  • porting LIM 3400

    what can be done to improve flow to
    the 3400 LIM ..besides gasket matching ?

    is it wise to grind away those" shrouds" around the injector seats ?

    nothing's impossible-it's just a mindset

    I would leave them alone, if you grind them away too much then the injectors wont seal very well. Ben can probably chime in more.

      yeah..but I don't mean to remove them.
      If you look at the injectors in the manifolds runner you can see
      that they are pretty deep inside there.

      I just meant to grind away the material to get the injectors
      to get a little closer to the surface and have better flow as the air enters
      the heads.

        Have you put the injectors in and looked at how it looks inside with them installed? That will give you an idea of how much you could modify them. I know it seems like it gets in the way of air flow but IIRC I *think* (a little hazy here) that leaving them alone is actually better.

          maybe...but normaly the injector nose is at
          the same level or even further out on most manifolds I've seen.

          so that's why i thought to remove some material there.

          anybody else that shares my thoughts ??
