No Ford rockers are completly wrong. Comp cams sells stamped 1.6 ratio roller tip rockers that are very affordable.

Not that I've verified this, but isn't the '94 and '95 stamped steel rockers on the 3100 1.6?

Yea they do have them. Any 3100 without the roller fulcrum rockers uses 1.6 ratio stamped rockers. But many on this forum are going to tell you that OEM ratios are not very exact. Plus you lose the roller tip Comp offers. Also consider the fact stamped rockers do wear out over a peroid of time. So considering the price and the fact you dont have to hunt for a donor engine the Comp rockers are really apealing.

            You're on the right track

The larger TB and headers is definitely going to help. Porting and 1.6 rockers will help. Porting can be done cheaply, but read up on it because you can hurt as much as help if you get it wrong.

Headers are a major thing. On the v6 you want equal length(34-36"), 1.5" primaries into a pretty large collector, then a resonator. After that you can put on a 2.5" system and you'll be ahead at least 15 hp.

            Good luck on it.
