why from the ford rather than a gtp or similar gm?You know that sun viser that doesn\'t quite go down when the sun is there and then when you are driving with it down and you can\'t see the stoplights ? Well... that\'s why my fiero isn\'t at the shop yet....

its the same supercharger. theford one has the cover like seen in the pics here. that way there you wouldnt have to fab up a plate and could mount it anywhere.

thanks for that i did not know that- the yard i am getting it from (hence not yet) a buddy owns he said he had a ford Thunderbird super coupe or a supercharged Bonneville. I'll grab the one off the super coupe then. so i have been reading why do i need another pulley that has no function? and i have never seen a setup with an intercooled supercharger anyone got some decent pics how that is plumed? You know that sun viser that doesn\'t quite go down when the sun is there and then when you are driving with it down and you can\'t see the stoplights ? The ford thunderbird is intercooled. That's why I say go with that one and just mount it somewhere other than on the manifold.
Instead of blowing from the bottom of itself (and into the manifold), it blows the air out the top, which is routed to an air to air intercooler, then back to the intake manifold that it just sits on top of.
So you could mount it elsewhere, and just run some custom piping up to your throttle body and use a BOV or rig the superchargers boost bypass to work with it.
The GM m90's output their air directly into the intake manifold, so the only way to intercool is to get one of those that puts like a heater core between the S/C and the the manifold, and runs coolant through it.
Check ebay, there were some thunderbird setups for sale that showed all the parts including the intercooler and how it went together.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

so is it possible to side mount that blower where the A/C compressor is? I'd much rather go with a a properly IC'd Blower than direct throw, it would keep chamber temps down and pings down. Now all I need to do is get another motor seeing as mine just bite it. Oh and she only had 30K on her.sigpicHow to make High performance Emissions:
A "true" High flow converter, straight pipe.
Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.

I believe so, if you can make room for it. Might have to move the radiator farther out where the condenser was? I'm not sure if you could cock it to the side if the oiling in the SC would be messed up or not. I've always heard of people doing it, but I haven't seen pics though. If I had a project car I'd probably pic one up on ebay and see what I could do with it.
Sucks about your pressure sensor leaking your oil out!!! Did it crack or what happened? BTW did I ever paypal you the 4.06 shipping for that EGR tube?sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

hey thanks didn't know that either. i'll check out the thunder bird setup when i get a chance to go get it again. You know that sun viser that doesn\'t quite go down when the sun is there and then when you are driving with it down and you can\'t see the stoplights ? I was looking around and i found this:
check out the pictures. it is a put together but it looks like the Thunderbird setup DOES sit on the intake. I am not seeing that right? if i am right how would one place it somewhere else? how would you plum that? i would understand it if it was smaller like a centrifugal supercharger. looking at THIS setup though it seems that i could go this route and turbo IF i wanted i could plum the turbo to go right to the intercooler piping that the first pipe coming from the supercharger comes from but i would assume that i would need a more efficient intercooler. Would you concur? You know that sun viser that doesn\'t quite go down when the sun is there and then when you are driving with it down and you can\'t see the stoplights ? well, I found out a few things on the M90. According to Magna Superchargers the M90 can be mounted in any position along its axis, so yes she can be mounted upside down or on her side, or just tipped. In my search I found this too, http://www.v6supercharged.com.au/prods.asp Scroll down a bit and you'll see a pic of a intercooler by-pass plate for top mounted L67 blower setup. It looks restictive but their dyno shows it works. There's also a ECU setup from kalmaker on that page, at the bottom, the software looked,...interesting. But for the price they asking I think I'll stay with HP tuners.
As for my dead toy, a 3.5L looks real good about now, So ben, get that mill going I'll be needing a throttle body soon. Hmmm an achieva powered by a blown, intercooled, 3.5L..... I'm really going to need a transmission!
Oh Isaac, its $4 bucks bro, who cares? I don't. It's all cool, no worries.
Ya, the plastic body cracked, it was on the original 3.1L and it was the only thing I didn't replace when I did the 3.4 swap, but I now have a really good excuse for a 3.5 swap! Just need coin, don't we all?Last edited by 95SleeperAcheiva; 05-08-2007, 12:27 PM.sigpicHow to make High performance Emissions:

Here check this out there are ways to mod the supercharger- (which i personally did not know about).

The ford m90 just rests on the intake, it doesn't blow into it. You can mount it to anything. If you look carefully, it's mounted on top, but the intake gets the boost after the intercooler through one little port on top of the intake. It's got plates that bolt to input and output of the SC so you can use those and plumb with them or hack them up and attach your own pipes to go where you want. I suppose you can use a grand prix m90 but it doesn't come with plates bolted on to modify. You'd have to custom make those.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

you know i feel really dumb i did not catch that it did not blow through to the bottom and it was the pipe- i knew it blew into the pipe (the intercooler) but for some reason my brain did not connect the two.. makes more sence. so i CAN put it anywhere. hmm... any ideas? maybe instead of AC?You know that sun viser that doesn\'t quite go down when the sun is there and then when you are driving with it down and you can\'t see the stoplights ? It blows out the top to the intercooler, then routed down to the top of the manifold. It has a plate with a tube on the bottom going up to the throttle body.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)
