If you're looking for rod journal diameter, they use the large journal, 2.25"

i need more info then that..

if the 3500 rod journal is 2.25inch and the 4.3l rod has a big end size of 2.25 whats the 4.3 crank rod journal diameter? i need to know this stuff before i drop 500 bucks on rods and they end up not working

Well, then you should have included that in the original post.

If you had I would have answered differently.
For some reason I'm thinking the 3500 rod journals are larger than the SBC rod journals.

Take a look in the specs page for the 3500, lik in under "pushrod" IIRC.

im just trying to make sure that the 3500 bearings and crank will work with the 4.3l h beam eagle rods... now that i have a 700 dollar set of pistons

As long as the piston pin location is set up to work, or you get a custom rod length... And even then, you'll have to get the 4.3L rods narrowed just like you have to with SBC rods for the older engines.

Well 4.3L rods are already narrower than SBC rods. So they might require little to no narroing. I can look in my Chevy Power Manual later

Umm, I tried it since I have all the parts here. They do require narrowing.

I thought they might. But it is not as much as a SBC rod.

can anyone get me the inside diameter of the stock 3500 rod without the bearing in it and the bolts torqued to specs?

Page 2... Unless you want real world instead of GM specs, although I'm sure they are going to be within tolerances.

im just trying to make sure i maintain tight oil clearances with the 4.3l h beam.. i called eagle rods today and talked to a guy named jimmy he said it wont throw off the balanceability of the rod if you shave the rod big end with from a .930 to a .867 to maintain rod clearance which is good
