  • 2.8 TBI to MPFI

I to all , was just wanting to know how much of a pain it is to swap from TBI to MPFI if I have a complete MPFI stsem minus computer? This is a unit from a 1988 Camaro to 1988 S10, what wiring would I need , cables, computer, would any of the TBI parts be useable? Just curious if there would be more performance as compared to a 4.3 TBI with 2.8 injectors , thanks Bill..

I haven't had the Camaro MPFI system but I can tell you that the 4.3 TB flows very well indeed in a 2.8. You might want to use the Edelbrock intake though, to get the most out of it.

      TBI

Hi, I know the 4.3 setup with 2.8 injectors does a extremely well job on the 2.8 - 2.8 TBI flows 235 cfm 4.3 flows 400 cfm . I have the other MPFI system that was included with a engine I bought , factory MPFI 135 HP - TBI stock 125 HP , I was just wondering if it was even worth thinking about swapping systems and how much of a pain in the backside it would be, Bill..

You would probably be able to get better MPG but i don't know.

Yea you wont see much a gain especially for the hastle and extra cost involved. The 4.3L TBI is a really easy swap and yields good results. No computers no wiring and is looks plain jane stock too.
