swapping it to a manual is easy. finding the donor car will be the hardest thing.

i believe the transmission will bolt up from a 2.2 but i wouldnt use it. its an isuzu version and not as strong as the getrag 282. a 90-94 cav will work as a donor car as well.

you'll have to check that HP rating again. pretty sure in 91 the 3.1 didn't have 140 HP.

Sure did. But between my '90 5spd GP and my '91 a4 GP, I've learned that the 140hp rating is very decieving. *cough* eats 3800's and BMW's *cough*
'93 Sunbird. 5spd, 3.1, it's fast. Oh, and 240k miles has proven lethal against Turbo Talons

I'm lurking occasionaly. It's tough because I'm usually too busy with the Army or my 5.0 Mustang. Which is for sale.

Man dont even worry about the numbers. They are quick stock. But here's what it takes for a 152k mile Grand Prix (remember, beretta are lighter..) to beat a BMW 323i and a 2001 Grand Prix 3800 (220hp).
-FULL flowmaster exhaust (not necessarily headers.. stock are good), hi-flow cat (i dont have one, but it would be a great mod!)
                            -SeaFoam your car.
                            -New plugs/wires.
-Custom cold-air intake. Keep the temp sensors and PCV.

and If ya wanna go crazy,
-a chip from this site (in the 60*v6 store)
-rocker arms from the 60*v6 store
                            -shift kit
-do a top-end 3100 swap (worth a LOT of power)
                            -do some custom head work
                            -cam it
-Boost it (prefferably a turbo. This route could cost some change though)

                            Do you really need more??
