99 3100 is small port so I wouldn't use that.

Can't you just unsolder the chip and then stick a removable style port chip in and program it that way???

there's two of em' that say's flash...and they're pretty small.
im'a go to the jy and find some 3100 grand prix's and open up the pcm and look for this code that the online tech told me.

          anyway the lg8 (newer 3100) has 175 hp/195 tq.
while the la1 (3400) has the same hp but 10lb torque.....

okay seeing the 3400 has 10more tq, the shop that was willing to do it felt more confident with the lg8 than the la1, he said the la1 whould need a couple things swapped...only thing i know whould need to be swapped is the injectors and buy a 94 l82 egr adapter.

well IIRC ull need a 99 3400 engine to make sure i get the right signal from the cam sensor, but i might be mistaken. also it isnt just peak TQ and HP that the 3400 has the 3100 beat, its overall power and potential as well.

but if a 3400 was swapped the only thing whould have to be used from my old engine is my injectors, and buy a l82 egr adapter plate?

did anyone think about doing a megasquart setup instead. You program it yourself.. Just a shot in the dark..

programable fuel injection. http://www.bgsoflex.com/megasquirt.html so you don't need to worry about if it's obd1 or odb2...

JEESH!!! just get a 96 harness from the same model car you have SIMPLE

I got an engine harness and modified it to work with my interior one since that changed a little too.

                      BOTTOM LINE
you CAN'T tune a 94-95 ECM and you CAN'T unsolder connections to make it tunable.

No one has the code or definition file for it anyways.
