I just bought some stage 8 locking header bolts. I think it'll make the install easier. I'll let you know in a couple of weeks.

u can use the stock header bolts yes if you are keeping the 3400 in ur GA...but you will want to soak them good with penetrating oil and make sure to turn them out slowly. then use a wrench if you can and a socket, a wrench to fit the nut and a socket to fit the stud. then make sure u turn them slowly. you can reuse them, but it is cheaper ins to just either get new studs and nuts(since they are compression style lock nuts) or some header bolts

i have just put these headers on my GA, so if you want any info let me know

I just used the same bolts on my header install. I had one hell of a good time getting the headers and gasket to stay in place while attempting to thread the bolts in. For ease of install I think the studs would be best. However once you get the locking tabs on the bolts, they arent going to loosen up. I I had a clearance issue with the top bolt on cylinder 6. I had to grind away at the head of the bolt to get it to line up straight with the hole. Not sure if there would be any issues with studs. Hope that helps!

i had no issues with the studs at all, just making sure that you get the fitment right, with either putting the stud in bare or with the nut on a little, but once u know what the clearance is, then it is alot easier. also a short 12 or 13(dont remember what stock nut size is) will come in handy as well as a long one

I used Breslin bolts on mine, and they worked great.

*Apparently Breslin has gone out of business... too bad because they had a good product.

I've used the stock genIII manifold studs on mine, no issues.
