Whether GM purposely left the "forged" label off I don't know, the 3.6 DOHC rods are sinterforged and in the article I thought I saw sinterforged powder metal so is GM leaving the sinterforged label off the 3500 rods? Who knows, it looks like they are playing on words.

Yah, i wish we knew for sure. Maybe i'll send out some emails and see if anything comes back.

I didn't make the statemtne regarding the LS7 rods, that's a quote, but it supports the very reason for my questioning the suspected weakness of the 3500 rods, assumptions made without the supporting information.

Cool Sappy, thanks a ton. You've been great to all of us. So the cam is available then right and you're still working on the ported manifolds correct? I linked to here from G6er.com but we've been having problems with the site so hopefully we'll get it back up and and a few of us will put our order in. Thanks man!

Nice numbers but as Ben noted real world results will really sell these items...

Yes simulators will give you a good estimate of peak HP in a certain set of conditions but it's never what you will exactly reach.

I cant wait to just get my OBDII 3400 dynoed, and then dyno the hybrid once thats in... I want to see just the gain the OBDII got me and then what the hybrid added.

It was OBDI.5 before so it was and still is SFI.... Its a 96 beretta ECM and wiring harness so nothing changed other than the fact that I can tune it.

It wasn't originally equipped with a 3.1 MPFI

cool, when u focus on all of the tunability...have fun. im fixin to start mine soon as well.

anyway Ben, do you know what the installed centerline would be with that 1393...would it be straight up, advanced a little or retarded a little with the stock chain setup

                      Shoulda gone to OBD1

I suppose you can tune on the fly with OBD2 though, that might be handy.

I tried... BUT I can't with a 4t60e unless I piggie back, but then I can't change shift points... and I tried a A-body Ecm (obd 1 4t60e) and I couldn't get that to work with my harness...

This was the easiest, 3 wires on the new engine harness and then it was plug and play since it was from the same car.

And tuning on the fly, well not really but I can flash my ecm in 45sec on the side of the road to fix something if need be... Plus the data logging options are crazy.
