  • Fuel Injector questions

Well currently my car is a 3.1mpfi with a 3 speed auto. Yadda yadda it's going to be a 3400 with bolt ons and a 5 speed for summer time. I know the standby is to run the stock injectors on the car, but I would assume those are going to be maxxed out. So really what would be ideal as a replacement? I'm going to be using an 04 3400, intake, headers, 2.5" exhaust, clutch, mounts, and I need to talk to Ben to see what he can do for reprogramming my chip. I don't know what the options are at all there, but atleast a reprogram for the 5 speed swap eventually.

There are some other questions in this thread, some of them aren't 660 related some I'm not posting them directly, but if anyone wants to read: http://www.bstuff.com/index.php?showtopic=45560&st=0 and give my any input, I'd appreciate it a lot.

Oh yeah, duh, for injectors I was kind of thinking about some Ford 21# injectors now, but I still don't know what the 3.1 or 3400 injectors are either. Shame on me on that for not searching, I'll do it after I post.

Wow, I'm a douchebag there was a big thread that started Monday. That answered some questions. Since I'll still be running the mpfi pump and computer, I'll probably have some limitations, but I'm still kind of inexperienced as far as injectors go. I don't know what would fit exactly, and so on. More search button.

Well I've been doing more learning, and it seems like 21 pound @ 43.5psi injectors would be a good bet. But I still don't really know what fits. But if I go with a chip from Burn, then I would just be able to use the multec2s that come in my 3400, right?

I know on v6z24.com there is someone who burns chips so that you can run the NEW 3400 injectors and FPR (forget who it was). But anyways yeah you need to get some larger injectors and have a chip tuned for them. Dunno if Ben can fix you up with your original performance chip and multec2's but they sound like a good way to go. (and would be included with the 3400).

Finally gave up on the gen2 huh? hehehe

Well it was more so that my automatic tranny took a shit, so I decided since I'm gonna be there to do a 5 speed swap I might as well throw a 3400 in it for now.

Besides my roomate has an 3.1 5 speed GTU that is looking for its next round of upgrades. He's probably gonna buy my ported manifolds, 59mm tb, and then some roller rockers to go along with the 3400 exhaust manifolds that were gonna put on sometime. It's got all of the other 3.1 bolt ons now, cai, udp, chip, mounts, 2.25" mandrel, etc. I'm trying to talk him into a cam too, but he's not wanting to pull the engine again.
