  • How much clearance for valve springs?

I will have .074" clearance before coilbind on the comp springs I have on the store. I though it was around .060 clearance min but id like to make sure.

Also, if you consider preload on the lifter, which aren't solid, I should have another .020-.040 preload from the pushrods. How much lift should I be losing from the hydraulic lifters?

According to comp the springs are designed for max of .600" lift, and they are installed at 1.8" on a LSx engine so that would put them at 1.2", and comp lists coil bind at 1.14" so I'd say yeah .06" is minimum clearance.

Don't know about your lifter question.

COMP recommends a min coil bind clearance of 0.060" other are more consertive at 0.100"
