    i know a shit load of you have done it but what seals are yall using on the 3500 heads? what retainers and keepers? 7* or 10*?
    any one have the gm part number for the ls6 springs? whats the diameter of the 3500 valve stems? you guys rock.

    3500 valves are 8mm, just like the 3400 and LS motors. lingenfelter is the cheapest place to get the LS6 springs. I use the comp cams LS steel retainers and keepers and have those on the store. They are 7 degree.

      what if i work for gm and can get them at cost? do you know the number?

        i get 12 of them for 100.02 to my work... not to shabby i guess.. 7.70 each

          Lingenfelter is under 80 for a set of 12 LS6 spirings.

          I'm using 89 Toyota land cruser spring seats, and 95 Chrysler 318 valve seals. fits together perfect with no modification needed.

            so are those for the newer model heads, because i heard that there was a difference between some of the diff heads for the 3400...

              yes these are 04 3500 heads, and those are the same as 03+ 3400 ones, or at least the valve stem is the same OD... thats the difference.

              The older heads had a smaller OD on the stem. IIRC the stock LS6 shims work with the 02 and older heads, I cant remember which seals fit though... Search for LS6 spring installs and you'll find something about what people have used in the past. Thats how I got all my info for my 3500 heads.

                i think it was either the 2.2 seals or the 3100 seals would work on the 02 heads, so they changed the style when they changed the rocker studs?

                  Yes... on the style change. They did all of that to save on assy time and make it so the engines shared parts.

                  And no the 3100 seals dont work because a 3100 seal is the same peice as the seat, and the LS6 spring doesnt fit over the seat, the ID of the spring is too small. It may be LS6 spring seats, and then 3.1 MPFI seals or something like that.

                      I got the land cruiser seats from the dealer, they were close to 80 bux for all of them i think... they weren’t cheap... physically they are just stamped metal but dealers like to rip you off...

                      Sappy says you can also use the 2.2L seals but I liked the 318 ones because they fit so god damn tight on the stem and made me feel like they wont leak or slip up wards and get destroyed by the spring.

                      Info about my build of the heads.



                      95341 is felpro seal part number, 88 toyota land cruiser is the seats, Gas engine not diesel, and then the LS6 springs. I used stock retainers and whatnot.'

                            You have to be careful with the 318 seals not to distort the seal around the valve. Its got no reason to be "so god damn tight".
