is there anyway to plumb in a line or anything in the block to divert oil down to the mains,without starving the cam for oil

No. Not on a Gen I or II block. The left had oil galley is what supplies the cam bearings and then the mains. The best way to improve oiling is to do the main bearing modifications listed in the chevey power manual. This will increase rod and main oiling. Even though the oiling system on the older blocks is not as good as on the Gen III blocks it is obviously not a problem since we never see much of any failures on this board. Too add more reliablility use a stock pump with a higher pressure spring and delete the oil filter bypass. And obviously you need to run a high quality oil.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual.
