No because his replacement cam shaft is NOT billet.

Only milzy guys should invest in one of these...

although GM does suggest using a polymer gear if you can get one, to decrease the amount of metal filings in the system and in the pan

Stage 1 SC is .496/.500 valve lift, 214/222 duration, 109 IC, 113 LSA
Unless he's changed them or gave me a custom grind those are not the stage1 SC cam specs. I didn't see them anywhere on his site either so I don't know where those came from. My stage1 SC cam is .51483/.5263 valve lift, 211.2/220.8 duration, 108.9/116.9 centerline, and 113 LSA. I got the first SC cam he made.

Also, you guys are forgetting we don't KNOW for certain that we need the bronze gear with the billet cam. According to the info Ben found on crane's site if the stock gear is hardened and/or melonized it will work. You only need to switch to the bronze gear if it's not. No one has been able to find any info on the factory gear. We're still waiting for someone with some miles on the cam to pull their oil pump drive gear and check it for wear.

And yes, even the comp cams LS1 springs will bind at .56" lift because our installed height is .1" lower than the LSx engine. So to safely go over .55" lift you need to get the spring seat on the heads shaved down. I wouldn't even go that high without doing it personally. As for the retainer hitting the valve seal, it shouldn't happen but you should always check clearance when you are assembling an engine anyway. Better to be safe!

in my 07 GMPP catalogue they say to use the bronze gear or melonized gear with any steel camshaft, and that is on every cam that is offered, it says to do that

The bronze will require checking as well but it will never destroy the cam gear itself (making your cam worthless). Milzy hasn't gotten back with us on the cam gear deal, nor the specs or pretty much anything other than some pushrod info (his pushrods are thinner wall than what he sent me).

Ill have the bronze gear out tomorrow. Just be sure to keep an eye on it as it will wear. The bronze won't scratch or destroy anything though as it wears, unlike iron or steel:P

Im going to try and get more cam specs today. I have to go to the machine shop and get pricing for some other work first. I know that 113 LSA isn't on any of the specs I have but I know they can do that. 112 is stock. I know I can do .515/.515 114 LSA like corey's cam specs on the store now.

$300 plus shipping on any regrind that doesn't require welding (all the specs I give are no welding required).

but the 112 on stock is good for keeping the driveability up and duration about the same, a little more on intake and ext...right, just take it up on the lift and there isnt any bad side effects besides the increased lift that might bind diff springs

I talked to the cam company today. I will have an updated list of grind specs available and then I can get them on the store. I am ordering the drill press right now so that I can modify the cam gear and see how it turns out on this motor. I will not copy the MMS specs because I would rather go 114 LSA. I know the specs I will have from the cam grinder are going to be a little "larger" than the final specs would be. I will have examples and such on the store to explain this:P
