I paid 630$ for both of my 3500s with each having less than 10k miles on them.

Decent score though. good luck on the tinkering.

he got them both for that...

i paid just over $600 for mine with 678 miles on it

What would you do to the crank?

I'd port the top end, it dosen't need much though.

Has anyone really broke a 3400 crank yet though???

If there were tons of 3400 crank failures floating around on this board and others then maybe I would have kept my 3500 one for my 3400 block I'm building but I have see it hold up to 400HP stock so I'm not really worried with what I'll be doing to it.

I bent mine but that was because it got hot from spinning #4 rod bearing...

I'd rather have the 3400 crank in the 3500, atleast that way you wouldn't need an external CPS. Just a 1/2" spacer for the sensor...

Id rather keep it in the 3500 block and use that bore size to my advantage. Bigger bore = less shrouding. Using the 3500 heads on a 3500 engine lets you open up the chamber some.

yes, but for old skool thinking, they dread the higher CR and think itll make anything over NA extra work and harder on the engine. i think if anyone can perfect the plumbing on the oil squirters, then boost away

if i really wanted bigger i would just stroke the motor....i know it can be done to at least 3.7l.............i think currently though i will stick with the 3400 block.....we'll see how far it will go until the supercharger blows stuff up....pretty sure i will snap axles and other stuff first though........

The oil squirters make much less difference than you think.

idk they put them on the boosted GXP engine on the solstice, so they gotta be good for something, and most of the conclusions are that they are on cyls 5 and 6 because those are the problems cyls some of the time, due to a number of concerns. it would be a neat project though
