yea but with 15psi uh the turbo should be able to increase the hp to like 500 if i calculated it right if its already 300. So uh then i wouldnt even need to upgprade the stock heads on the 3500 would i? Uh i can talk on Bens chat around 8 i got it working lol.

im not sure exactly how much psi you would really have to push on the 3500 to get where you will be snapping axles and burning up the stock trans, but with the added plenum volume and flow and design, they shouldnt need all that psi really

50-80% more power from 300hp stock or with a turbo do you only get like 30? The ones i saw on a mitsubishi eclipse V6 was running over 500hp at 12psi i believe. Then again maybe our engines are different. I calculated between 450 and 540. To high?
Gectec for me i'll be dropping my trans with anything over 250hp. That will be something i'll be changing before the turbo. I was just looking into it a little. I'm not sure about axels diablo would probably be able to estimate that.Last edited by Tdunk; 01-18-2007, 06:01 PM.

well i think 3k is a hella lot for a trans, even a race trans. i could build 3 modified hd trans for that really. also yah they are dohc engines, and a completely diff beast. these engines have very good potential...but dont compare rice to beef...
edit: maybe more like 2-2.5...lol depending on level of mods and new/upgraded parts

You can build me a trans for 1 k? are you kidding? Everything ive been told has been so expensive like the 3400 build was gonna cost me over 6k just to get the parts put together. well first you have to have the trans and as this is his daily driver he cant have it down for a month or two... so also figure in the price of an 03+ 4T45E
for axles i would recomend giving the grand prix axles a look, they can work with some modifacation, just ask BlackJack, he should be able to help you out
oh and how much exactly can you garuntee your trans for? thats one added bonus with this trans

Yea there's a couple of local junkyards with transmission. I'll go and see how much they are charging and instead of rims i'll just buy one and then save up for LSD. Then w/e else ill need... i wonder how much a cryogenic treatment would cost. Plus then diablo once i have her finished lol i hope you can help me install it haha.

well first off, what are you going to do with the trans and lsd, rebuild them yourself or just put the lsd in or what? second, id look on ebay frist for the trans they have better deals, third, make sure the trans is from your car, because the programming is diff from the 4t40 to the 4t45, and the years are diff also in some of the sensors they use and diff fluid passages, i paid 450 with shipping and my trans was an 02 with 20k miles on it, so shop around
ull need alot more than just the lsd for a good trans rebuild, ill be on the chat later tonight and email me also on the trans

The 4T45E Should work according to mark and diablo at least. I dont think a build 4T40E which is my current trans will uh build well. Its weak at stock and i dont imagine its gonna get to the power requirements. Reguardless of what i want i'm gonna have to have someone tune it.

very good price, and yah the 4t45 will work, the only diff in the 40 and the 45 is the final drive ratio, and a few diff fluid passages and high output pump, and a few heavier duty parts. your gas mileage will be diff also, but the speedo should stay the same, because those are controlled by your wss, and everything else should be ok, they have all the same connections on them
i would def talk to the sellers and see what the condition of the trans is in
i got mine from AAA auto off ebay, also to crossreference the trans, any model GA with the auto trans had the 4t40(se) or the 4t45(gt) and the malibu is the same thing(although i think all of them used the 4t40) but they are almost identical. just that most of the parts in the 4t45 are upgraded for higher hp and tq than the 4t40

Yea i thought the trans were almost exact at least in fitting. I cannot get on email until i get home which is about 3 30. Server blocks all email access. Currently i have 400-550 depending on this week. I'll talk to you about services later on either chat or email. damn...... 156 just for shipping.
