  • Bigger injectors (3900)

I'm hoping you all can help me. I'm looking to go to a larger injector for my 3.9L G6. I won't be installing them right away, I have some other mods to finish first. It will be tuned with HPTuners when they finally go in. Does anybody happen to know of a larger injector that will work (~40 lbs)?

I thought I had an extra set of 30 lb/hr injectors I'm willing to part with but it appears I'm 1 short from the GM 8100 big block which may require a different plug than what's found on the 3900 unless the plug design on it differs from that on the 3500 which would probably mean it is the same as that found on the 8100 since those are the only two designs I'm aware of for the short injector. 42 lb/hrs were apparently used on the supercharged Escalade and another boosted vehicle neither of which I have been able to find a listing for to obtain information.

Since you have access to the code perhaps you can shed some light on the VVT table for that engine.

What is the stock flow on 3900 injectors?
Will the 36 lb injectors from the supercharged 3.8L engine work?

I think I read on here they were 28 lb units. As for the sc'd 3.8, I have no idea whether those will fit or not.

The fuel injectors from the 3.8L will not fit, they're to long. The flow rate that I posted for the 3900 under the 3900 thread by CNCguy is at a little higher fuel pressure than the 30 lb/hr injectors I mentioned earlier are rated at so they would probably flow at about a 31 lb/hr rate or higher depending on the pressure difference, I don't recall it.

I sent emails to AC Delco and Delphi. I doubt I;'ll get any usable data, but I figured it was worth a shot.

I got nothing back from them. Any other suggestions?
