Destroked 3.4 ?

im picking up a 3.4 with a slight rod knock next wekeend to toy with once my 3.3L is done.
and was toying with the idea of using a 2.8 stroke crankshaft in the 3.4?
should be nice for a high reving 3.2 ish motor
what ya think?

3.4 with a 2.8 crank ends up at just below 3.1L... 3.08 IIRC

I looked into this about a year ago but i didn't want to have to order custom pistons.

yeah i didnt do the math i just took a quick quess at it,custom pistions really arent that exspensive,the only reaosn im even thinking about doing it,is caus ei have a perfect 2.8 crank,and an extra set of rods,and the 3.4 im getting is gonna need a crank/rod(s).so any which way i look at it im gonna have to buy something lol

what ever happened with those heads? was anyone ever able to track down some info on them?

if i build another motor for my car, i wanna build a destroked 3400. around 11.1 compression, 3500 top end, solid roller cam, knife edge the crank, eagle rods, forged pistons, ect. with the big bore short stroke combo, it should be very happy reving way up high. only issue becomes the tranny, as our getrags dont like to shift very well that high.

Why stop there? A 3500 bore with the short stroke would be even better

true but i thought the 3500 had larger crank journals so an older 2.8 crank wouldnt work.

Only the rod journals are larger. The mains are the same. A 2.8 crank should rop right in.

I'd just get a straight 3500.

Oh wait i have 2 of them at my house with very low miles
