Honestly, I cant say between the 3.1 and 2.8's but I do know there were 2 different cams for the 2.8 iron head. If they were the same, it would have to be an H.O. cam.Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance -
the 2.8 HO cam is the same as the 3.1 cam yes.Comment

what do you guys think of 1.6 roller tip lifters on that cam plus supercharging?
will I be able to get to 5500rpm with that set up?

1.6 rollers? I cant say I've ever heard of them for the 3.1. I have a friend that had some 3400 rollers machined to fit the 2.8/3.1 but he told me they were 1.5's. As for the supercharging, alot of that depends on how you built the engine. Honestly it sounds like alot more work than most people would be willing to take on.Tuning a car is full of compromises.
