  • gen 2 heads on gen 3

The plan is to use gen 2 heads on a 3500 non vvt block. If you have to ask why then you dont' know what I have.

I have seen other people go with a gen 2 block and a gen 3 swap up top. I however have not seen anyone do a gen 3 bottom with a gen 2 topend.

My question is, can I use the stock length pushrods for the gen 2? Or do I use the stock length for the Gen 3's? Or do I need custom?

I will be using eithr comp cam roller tipped rockers, or a set of the CRane gold race rockers I have.

    THanks

the heads will bolt on no problem, but the pushrods may be a problem, if i remeber right the gen 2 is a non roller motor so, i think you should be able to use gen 3 pushrods in it with adjustable rockers. at the worst you may half to get custom pushrods ( avile from comp) i think it will also raise the compression ratio but that one i'm not 100 % sure on.

I know they will bolt on and I dont' care about the CR and all that. Thats not my concern. My concern is if anyone knows which pushrods to use, or if it doesnt' matter or if I def need custom length.
