    it's a 3.1 block with alu heads and a 2.8 crank with
forged pistons,so I'll need the pushrods of a 3.1 engine with alu heads right

I looked for springs in ebay..but it says nowhere that they are 1.7 inch

can you give me a tip to be sure that I am purchasing the 1.7 inch springs.

summit is great..been there on there site.

I was under impression that the only fifference between a 2.8 and 3.1 is the crank, connecting rods, and piston. They both have the same bore just a differnet storke. If you have 3.1 block with a 2.8, you have a 2.8 motor. Are you using connecting rods and piston from a 2.8 as well?

          yeah..guys your right.
it is a 2.8 crank with the 3.1 block and heads(alu).

by boring the block to 3.57 it's displacement goes up to 2.9 aprox.
          I'm using ford cosworth pistons from a 2liter engine(turbo).

          I'm using I beam conrods (bushed)from a 327 small block(scat).
because my (ford)pistonpinn is 0.942 inch.

this way I have forged pistons for cheap..overhere custom forged ones would
          cost me about a 1000$$$$$

now I only payed about 300 for the ford pistons (they hold 350hp in a 4 pot setup)

plan to boost it with 10-12psi max.(for now)

I made up mymind....I will buy the edelbrock performer cam.

the cam has abou the same data as the zz performance cam for the 3.8L sc.

the zzp cam has .390 lift and 206/216 duration at .50 lift with 115LSA,

and the edelbrock has .420 lift and 204/214 duration at .50 lift with 112LSA.

so they are darn close..plus the edelbrock cam is only 129$(incl.lifters) at
            summit

maybe I'll get some magnum roller tip rockers to go with that

They aren't close. I doubt ZZP uses a .390 lift cam. Maybe lobe lift. 115lsa vs 112 is not close either.

                well here: VS cam.

                206/216 at .050"
Intake Lift .320" (.512" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
Exhaust Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
                115 LSA

what I meant by saying that is that it's close enough for me,
they rate the cam for 35-50 hp depending on your mods of course(for a 3.8L sc.)

The Crane 260 cam boasts a little more lift and duration than the Edelbrock and I can get it in Canada for $113. So in the states it should be cheeper.

Yea it is the price with lifters. I just got a price at my parts store. GM also sells the same cam. Do you have access to a GM dealer over there?

well we have some opel dealers overhere..but they usually
charge a lot more than a parts store overhere.

for a volkswagen cam 272 you will have to pay about 300+ dollars
overhere in europe(just for a example)

what partstore do you buy your stuff from than ?

I ususally shop around 3 local places. Lordco, PPC or my GM dealer. I get staff price at the dealership because my dad is the service manager. But the Performance parts Catalogue is not marked up much at all.
