as u can see i was able to get the gen2 manifold to clear the distributor, but i decided to go ahead and start machining away the runners of the manifold so i could build a complete custom manifold for my needs

Nice work there, that's actually the first cool 3.1 RS I've come across. The new engine looks good too, what are you planning to do with the manifold?

            14.60 @ 96.33 for now...

well in some of the pics u can see were i stared making plates/flanges that bolted to the heads,i was gonna make a sheet metal manifold out of those, but then i found the 3.1 lim from a berreta that would almost fit the distributor.after machining the back of the manifold for the dizzy to fit,i decided i didnt liek the runners in the manifold so i just started machinng them away, when im done alls that will basically be left will be the holes for the injectors with the whole middle of the manifold gone, leaving me to make my own runners and plenum.
pretty much the same thing i was gonna do with the plates but atleats now the sides the bolt to the heads and the end rails/water pasaages will all be intact in one piece, saving me alot of work down the road.
other then that its hard to explain but as i work on it ill keep posting pictures so u can see what im doing

yeah its an xspower turbo. ive had it on the car over 20,000 miles pushing 18 psi,and its held up fine.its actually 2 1/4 to 2.5 inch downpipe, ill be swaping it out for a 3 inch down pipe with oval tubing to go under the kmember soon

Hey that is a great looking setup. It reminds me of my original turbo system on my Century. You've got (what appears to be) the same air / air intercooler (did come from the Volvo?) and airflow meter.
How are you going to tune the engine management system?
Can't wait to hear how it runs! Do you have a page with more technical details?

yeah its a volvo 740 ic,i just ordered a large aluminum front mount for the car though since i was noticing around a 4psi preasure drop across the ic above 12 psi.(id get 18 psi at the manifold, but 22 psi at the turbo outlet.)
belive it or not im still running my factory ecu,for the longest time i was tunning with and fmu and wideband, till i put in 30 pound iinjectors, once i hit 30 pound injectors i had a custom chip burnt.but on the new engine i am going to run megasquirt.
i have alot of info on this car at thirdgen.org/techboard/v6.

could you show more picture of the LIM and the distributor. I want to do the AL head swap too but just wanted to know what has to be done to run the dizzy. I plan on a custom intake but didn't realize the lower intake stopped to use of the dizzy. I knew the upper was problem.

not bad man should of used the 3400 top end and modded the intake you'd get a nice gain just from that.

you got a good platform as well it being rwd
