Done a little bit of the CAD work but nothing yet on machining. Been way too busy to work on it. It is not my highest priority project at this time. Several others still in front of it. I will update everyone when I make some progress.

SC's are cool but it seems that a turbo project would be easier/cheaper/no hood issues/possibility for more power without changing much?

From a business standpoint, it seems like a set of great priced turbo headers would sell the most. Or hell even selling modified stockers that have been cleaned up/sprayed with your flange of choice could work. Offer some pre-bent IC tubing for a small IC that is made to fit in our engine bays, would be great.

I thought I read in a post somewhere that the 3500 heads could only be swapped to a 3400 cause the combustion chamber was to big for a 3.1/3100 or something like that? Did I misunderstand/misread something?

and how about the drive belt?

would that be a 6 or 8 groove serpentine..cause if you go the 8 route
then you would have to change all your pulleys.

personally I would go the 8 route for less slipage.
unless it's only gonna make about 8psi or so...then the 6 should be sufficient.

              just my 2 cents.

I asked about the drive belt already but... you could do an 8 rib drive for the SC without changing all your other pulleys. You just have to make an adapter pulley with an 8 rib on the front for the SC and a 6 rib on the back for the stock belt and run the SC on an independent belt and tensioner. The GTP's are like that, they don't run off the same accessory belt.

I'd rather see a remote mount kit for down where the A/C was... then you can run a stock hood, and run piping to intercool...

Too many other projects and a lack of time and money.

I was actually thinking about starting a project like this and using the M62 thatI have laying around! I think it would sell the most for the 3.1 mpfi engines.... you know, for the guys who still have the older engines in their car and just want a good bolt on without having to do a motor swap!!

This would be cool, but harder than it sounds to actually produce. The 60 degree valley doesn't leave a lot of room for injectors if you cram an m62 or m90 in there. I think that the biggest problem is finding a good spot to locate the injectors after you get done burying the supercharger down low. There really isn't an easy and cheap way to do this. Also, you still need to find a spot to stick the power steering pump when you are done. And visibility really isn't a problem if you pick up a few inches in height. Whenever people sat in my car the first thing they would say was something like "huh, that doesn't really block your vision at all does it?" The hoods have a pretty good slope on them and the seats in something like a beretta or grand am sit you up higher than you realize. I was still looking down on the top of my m90 when it was installed.

CNCguy's got some good skills from what I can tell. If there were a way to do this that were worth it, him or someone else would have done it already. A lot of people with the right tools have talked about doing something like this.

I've got a fiero with a 3500...no power steering, no hood clearance issues...... its about as simple as a manifold to me. and the injector placement isn't that hard, they can almost go anywhere, even the intake port of the head. and since its supercharged they don't really need to be aimed at the back of the valve (even tho that's the best idea)

I was just wondering if I could get this sparked up again, sure would like one for the 3500 fiero

You can always do it the ghetto way, like that beretta had. The plenum was machined down, and an adapter plate was made to fit the SC, then welded the plate to the plenum that was machined.
