yeah..that's possible butt I would need to sleeve that block for the
fitment of the forged pistons I have here.

I am having my 3.1 block sonic measured tomorrow at work.
after that I'll probably decide to fill her to about plugheight, that way most of the wall is supported.

tried soni measure at work butt it didn,t work.
the probe wasn't suitable for this type of measurement.

asked to company's if they could measure it ..but nothing..

finally brought it to my machinist for boring to 3.57

      we will see the outcome.

if it looks risky I will fill her up to the freeze plugs with hard blok.

btw if I use the 2.8 crank than the actual used cilinderlength(height)
will be lower than with the 3.1 crank.
so this will be beneficial to the strength of the cil.wall.

The racing sleeves will hold more than you can throw at them. They should be made of ductile iron. Around my way it cost about $100 a sleeve. Good luck with the thin walls and boost.....

It's the "and boost" part we are worried about. An m90 is good boost for a 3.8, a full liter bigger than a 2.8, or 800cc's bigger than the 3.0 he's likely to end up after the boring.

the thing is..sleeves are not the best choice because
the threadholes of the headbolts will only be supported at one side
            instead of 2.

            so that's a negative..

eh..second it would be to expensive to do for me(about 450$)

and third..the forged custom pistons would cost me a grand overhere !!!!

standard hypereutic's aren't realy up to the job if reliability is essentiall.

so that leaves only the option of reboring to 3.57" that;s only .070
instead of the MAX .060 that the manufacturers use.

I am realy considering filling her to the plugs..for some extra support,
butt won't that give probs with cooling??

            STILL BRAINSTORMING ABOUT THE FILLER

Where are you located? 450 is cheap for a motor you KNOW will take some abuse. Nobody modifies a motor for performance not to beat on it. Like they say pick 2 of these 3...Cheap, Fast, Reliable. Personally I go for Very fast and reliable.

Gotta pay to play....Atleast that's what they say at the strip club LOL.

You shouldn't notice any cooling issues filling up to the freeze plugs, We do this all the time on the 92-97 LT1 blocks, and have not had a cooling problem yet.

But, Only going up to the freeze plugs will strengthen the lower end, and not the cylinder walls.

                    I live in belgium europe

I wonder if it is possible to fill almost the entire
block with filler and create channels before filling it.

maybe with some kind of wax will do the trick..JUST brainstorming

I will have the block dye checked after boring..so that i
can be sure there are no cracks in the walls.
