I built a 2.8 liter for my 86 fiero gt and toatlly forgot about the fuel system untill i fired it up and heard the telltail sine of a backfire through the intake under load so i pulled a plug and found them to be white with a nice blueing of the electrode. so to make a long story short does anybody know where to get my car tuned in MI? and i dont whant to spend 1500 on a haltech ecu

What part of MI? I'm not sure how close Ben is to you (probably not very), but I'm sure he'd be willing to help if he can.-Brad-

Hmm, yeah, I forgot that small detail.
There might be a few others on here that might be able to help you out. Or try looking over on realfierotech.com cause I'm sure someone over there could help out.-Brad-

Why not use MegaSquirt on the thing? Definitely cheaper than $1500.\"NASCAR is an integral part of my life. A part of me died when Dale Earnhardt died.\"

backfiring through the intake is a sure sign of it being lean.
there are other options without going haltech. i run a megasquirt ecu in my car, im quite happy so far. an assembled ecm can be had for around $400. another option would be to head to this site http://www.fierohut.com/ and e-mail the guy about a chip. you can give him your engine specs and he can get you a chip done. he is in vancouver bc though, so shipping might take a bit.
