What are you doing about the alt. location? Seems as if you need to fab up a tensioner pulley and idler pulley.
Also, are you going to put a backing plate on that cog? It looks like it might move over and cause problems on the face of the w/p pulley.

What was the main goal of this eletric configuration? Looks crafty!

So I take it the water pump will not be variable speed? Shouldn't be an issue at all, just wondering.

Actually, the intake was done a few years ago when I built a twin TB intake.
The idle was too hard to control, so I ditched that idea, and I'm redoing the upper intake portion. And yes, it was TIG'd.
If anyone knows where I can upload a short video clip of the twin TB intake running, I'd be happy to load it.
I'll keep you guy updated as I build the new upper, but for not, it's staying under the hat.
The alternator will stay in the same place. I'm working on the tensioner set up now. I think I've got it figured, but still gotta test it.
I'm hoping the car will be streetable, but it won't be a "daily" driver. Mainly weekends and track.
It'll come down to whether it stays cool enough with the electric w/p. But as Robby said, I don't think it'll be an issue.
As for the face of the waterpump, that's why I put the pulley back on. I originally had it without the pulley, but the pulley will help keep it in place, and not ride off. I doubt it'll ever come close to the other end of the cog, just because of the way it's set up. I've tested it on the battery, and seems good.
As for why I'm doing this, because I didn't want the power steering anymore, but with the way these engines are set up, I had to drive the w/p somehow.

if a guy was to mount that electric motor where the a/c compressor is on this motor he probley could keep the power steering right ?

Likely yes, but the belt it comes with is too short.

Here's another picture for you guys. Let me know what you think.
You can see there's some modification necessary to fit the belt this way, but I think it'll be ok.
It's got good tension on the belt as well.
And yes, it's got JB weld on it. There was alot of pitting under the tensioner.

                      You maybe could try this:

To be like the old school setup (V-belt ages) .

Hey, Franz... What about keeping the tensioner, using an AC delete pulley and routing the belt over that? I think without the PS pump, it might route past the water pump still?

I considered putting an idler pulley where the p/s was, and that would still allow me to use the stock w/p set up.
But you know me. I wanted as few pulleys as possible, and couldn't pass up the chance to use an electric w/p.

how do you adjust the belt tension on that there thing? or do you pry the belt on and off?

No, I don't pry it on and off. How I get it on the alternator is my little secret.
It's simple really. Remove 2 of the bolts from the alternator bracket, (where it bolts to the head) the lowest bolt and the front bolt, loosen the other, and pivot the whole alternator and bracket forward. Slip the belt on, tilt back, and tighten the bolts.
