  • Cam question

i have milzy stage 2 cam that was just installed. i am having a problem with random misfires (P0300). i just want to know if this is just the nature of the beast or is something wrong? also, if i delete that DTC will that inhibit the other codes (P0301 etc) from showing up? thanks.

i'm assuming with that cam the idle is lopy. the ecm is thinking that the engine is misfiring due the the speeding up and slowing down of the crank. you can delete the code only to have it return shortly. ecm needs a tune. maybe a bandaid fix is to raise the idle up to help smooth things out and see if the codes stay away.

i raised the idle to 900rpms and it still throws the code so i disabled it. after i get the car properly tuned i'll enable the code again to see if its still doin it.

My stage 1 boost cam has random misfires as well, mostley when I rev quikly in neutral. But it does get anoying though, I rasied my idle to 700 and it seemed to help a little.
