  • LX5 3.5L plenum bolt on to 3400?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer is no, but figured I'd ask the experts. Is the upper intake on the 3.5L LX5 "Shortstar" the same as the 3500 upper intake? I think the LX5 is a 90 degree engine, so probably not? What vehicles did the 3500 come on?

No, it will not bolt on to the 3500. Search for the cars that have the 3500. G6, Malibu, Impala etc use the 3500.

The LX5 is a 90* engine, but uses the GM corporate small bell housing, which is the same as the V6 60* engine.

LX5 is not worth the swap/time, as it was only produced for 3 years and parts are super expensive for it. Only came in Old's Intrigue and Aurora.

Are the LX9, LZE, and LZ4 the only 60 degree 3500s? That would make the first model year 2004? Where do you find an intake? Junkyards where I live don't have anything that new.

Great info right there on those engines,

one 3500 is based of the 3900, and the other 3500 is based off the 3400 V6.

And for cheap parts not found at your local yard, go here

A great place for almost any parts!
