6SPEED: 600lb-ft?!? That's awesome. I'm figuring some fabrication for any 6speed transmision so no problems there. But wouldn't a new T56 be more bang for the buck?

Marty: About the bellhousing of my v6's 700R4...would I need a different bellhousing to hook up my existing transmission to even the same generation V8 like the LB9 or L98?

Because the bellhousings are different sizes and bolt up differently. Its the same way with the 4L60's/4L60E's in the 4th gen F-bodies. They have the same trans, different bell housings. That is all.

Yea the old 6 speed was bullet proof. I talked the the tranny guy at my dads work and he said he never once took one apart. But he has serviced plenty of T56's

The bellhousing is cast as part of the transmission case, and cannot be swapped.

The 60 degree V6's all have the same bellhousing bolt pattern. The old small blocks and the LT-1 are the same. The LS-1 is similar to the LT-1, but I think it requires a LS-1 specific tranny/bellhousing.

they CAN be swapped, but you'd need an adapter which isn't really going to be helping you out in the end. :P Thats another reason my car isn't getting an LT1/LS1 swap
