  • 272/ hybrid /springs?

After reading through some of the spring threads i almost get the feeling with a gen2 engine and flat tappet lifters i could get away with a crane 272 camshaft and ls1 springs on my hybrid engine.

would this be possible or would i need to upgrade to the stated comp springs (and retainers while i'm at it)

i do notice even with my 260h camshaft that power starts dropping off at about 6200 rpms. i dont think its the springs but i'm still trying to learn all about this stuff.

i am using the crane 1.6:1 gold race rockers aswell, so my lift right now is upwards of .480".... with the 272 camshaft i'll be upwards of .512" lift

anyone good with valvetrain geometry and specs?
    Thanks,
    brad

I know Brian had basically the same setup a couple of years ago and didnt have any valvetrain problems. I think he even had the LS1 (or LS6) springs tested to see how well they matched up. Maybe he'll see this.

I bought the LS6 Valve Springs from Lingenfelter Performance in the US for my hybrid. i think in total it only cost me $80 CDN to my door.
I dont know what this means but "ASS HATS" is funny
