Was wondering if anyone has done any research into the availability of an electric water pump or a remote electric water pump for the FWD OHV motors?

I was considering looking into taking a water pump core and making one, I figure it shouldn't be all too hard . . . but if there's one already on the market . . .

NA... not available. I know a few people have looked at this before. There's some threads around somewhere. Don't think anyone ever came up with a solution though. Personally, I don't think the power gain would be worth the cost or complexity. Especially with the limited room in my engine bay. It might work better for someone else though so...

i know moroso makes an electric water pump conversion kit. its basicly a small 12 volt motor and a belt drive to the factory water pump. this is just as good as a complete electric pump, and i know many people that have used them on various applications with no issues at all.

Hmmm . . . it might be an option. I'm not all that concerned about the slight power gain, I'm looking more at trying to even the cylinder head and block temps a bit more . . . increase cooling efficiency. With the upper end I'm still slowly working on, I'm putting in a coolant crossover line on the LIM between the coolant ports aside cylinder numbers 1 & 2; It looks like I've got enough space behind the P/S pump and underneath the runners to throw in a 1/2" stainless line (from my experiences with the blown LIM gaskets, it tends to be those two coolant ports where flow just kinda stops, a lot of junk buildup that hardens and cracks the gasket).

Anyways . . . I was looking into grabbing a wp core from the yard and removing the pump impeller and shaft, replacing the bearings and seeing if I can't find a relatively small 12v motor with a long enough shaft on it that can drive the impeller; but I'm running into the headache of figuring what kind of speed the thing will need to turn to produce at least 25gpm at full flow, and then some way to vary that speed by varying the voltage based on engine rpm. I guess if push comes to shove, I could just full field the motor and allow it to turn at speed . . . need to see if I can find a motor, though

most electric water pumps are on race only stuff, not designed for street use. they are usualy on or off, they dont varry based on rpm.

Killer B v6 has been selling an electric pump set-up for our engines for quite a few years. I saw one installed at a car show a few years ago....looked good and the owner was very satisfied with it.

is that their homepage? $225 is kinda costly, IMO.

Yes, that's it. I don't know that I'd spend the money either but it if you're serious, it does work and he supplies everything you'll need to get it up and running.

I'll consider it, I might contact them for some more info.

                    Thanx for the info, though!
