I want to replace my stock 2.8L carberator that is in my 85 Jeep Cherokee with something other than stock; ie Holley, Edelbrock, Weber. I don't know where to start or what to look for.

thanks! I'm aware of these sources. I'm looking for some tech advice. Maybe someone has already done a carb swap on the 2.8L?

Hey. Hit up s-series.org There are tons of guys there with new carbs. Most runnig the Weber and a few running the Holley.

www.LMCtruck.com sells the weber kits. But you need to order the free catalogue first.

There are several Citation guys who have swapped to the edlebrok 4-barrel intake and Holley 390 carb with good results. There are also people who have modified the stock 2-barrel carb intake to use a 500cfm Holley 2-barrel. Both carbs seem to really pick up the top end power on the 2.8's. I agree that s-series.org is probably the biggest concentration of knowledge on the subject.

That s-series.org is an excellent forum and source for information. There are several people that have swapped out the stock Rochester with a Redline Weber kit for the 2.8L. It will also work on a 3.4L since they are in the same family.
