fuel vaporizer??

anyone ever here of a fuel vaporizer screen for a 4bbl?? it goes under the carb and it gets hot so when u start the engine cold there is lots of vapors to get it running... im having some issues with #3-4 cyls fouling kuss there are rite under the carb.. I know chevettes have these screens in them. You can start the engine at -40c w/o a choke, its awsome

yeah I have heard of it. It is just metel window screen siliconed under the Carb.

i saw one on a turbo fiero on one of the powerblock shows I think.

i saw that as well. it was a 2.5l duke that was turbo-ed, and made over 250hp very reliably. by vaporizing the fuel you get better cold starts and way better fuel atomization.

hmm, nothin for 4BBL's tho ehh, it looks like ill have to fab somthin.. On the hotrodders forum someone suggested just an element ontop of the carb in the aircleaner, anyone here have more ideas??, Remember its for cold starts so antifreeze and exhast heat wouldent work too well

Hi there!

GM put EFE (early fuel evaporation) heaters on many carbs in the '80s -- check under some salvage-yard Q-jets, if you're running a spread-bore carb. I haven't seen anything like that in the aftermarket for square-bore carbs, though.

we just pulled one out of my buddies '84 Regal (3.8 ). With only 11K on the car (yes, eleven thousand miles on an '84 regal)...
