HELPP!!!

Hey i have a 1994 grand se 3.1L it was driving fine up until 1 day ago then it started this really bad knocking sound coming from under the hood, then it started to get more worse then finally my car died and wont start but i think the alternater went and thats the reason it wont start.But does anyone know why the car is making this knocking sound it is really bad when you start to drive everyone i drove by turned there heads. I checked the oil and it is still full please could someone tell me what they think the problem is???

I'd say you drain the oil and look for metal fragments...

And if there is metal fragments in the oil what does that mean??

it means your motor is f****d. the noise may have been a rod bearing going out and then it finally did and thats why your motor doesnt run anymore. it may not be your problem and you will have to look into it to see exactly what happened.

So if it was the rod bearing gone then would i be able to fix it or would i just have to buy a new motor??
