  • PCV grommet

Hello 60V6 people, I have a 93' VinT 3.1. Just did some plenum cleaning, injector testing, etc. I was going to pull the old PCV valve grommet that mounts into the rear valve cover and replace it, but the old "grommet" does'nt seem like a grommet at all, it seems to be metal and i tugged on it with pliers but couldn'y get it out of the hole. The PCV valve itself is a bit loose in the old metal grommet, i can move it up a fraction of an inch easily by pulling on the top of the valve. It does'nt come completely out of the hole, but it isn't sealed as tight as it should be. I put the new valve in my new grommet in my hand to compare, and the seal there is quite tight.

Has anyone removed the old/stock metal PCV grommet thing on the GenII 3.1, and if so how did you do it?

The grommet is, in fact, rubber. Its just really hard from heat/old age. I had to cut one out once. Just keep tugging on it, it'll come out.
