Great site! I've done alot of reading and learned quite a bit, but nothing that helps so far.
I've got an '87 S10 Blazer with a 2.8 tbi on a new rebuilt motor (50 miles). 700r4 tranny.
Got the engine back in and it fires and runs good at idle and at speed. Choke is working good. Acceleration is the problem. It surges and cuts out, but doesn't die. No backfires so timing is good. If I get the throttle past 1/2 way (secondaries?) it has great acceleration with no surges. But putting along at little throttle to about 1/2 throttle it surges almost with a rythmn.
I've checked for vacuum leaks, none. New plugs and wires. Gone through MAP, TPS, IAC, temp sensor, etc all check out good. I'm wondering about the injectors.
The spray pattern looks good, no drips that I can see. I haven't checked fuel pressure but it appears to be fine. I'm running injector cleaner through the tank now, I figure it'll take me 4 days or so to finish the tank.
I ohm'ed the injectors and they're reading 2.3 to 2.6 ohms. I did read that most of the injectors talked about on this board ohm at around 12. Should tbi injectors read the same? Most injector references I read were on the DOHC forum so I wasn't sure.
