Ok, lol i think i got some bad intake valves in cylinders 1&3. A friend has a set of heads from a 93 or 94 3100, no roller rockers, but are the valves the same as my 97 3100? Hoping they are and the seats arent beat all to hell in my heads. Pray for me, lol.

hehehe. What year is your 3100? If it's pre 2000, then the valves should be the same.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

lol ok thx guys, but they should be the same right, i tried to cross reference some parts lists but man i guess im not doing my searches right. I think ill be yankin the heads off tonight, see what happens tomorrow, if the valve seats arent torn up i should be ok. Ill just swap out the valves and cross my fingers. No budget at all left now, lol. gonna drain the oil and the coolant and save it, cause im gonna have to reuse it.

Good luck! hopefully valves is all you need and you'll be set!
Brad: yes my memory is getting bad. I'm pretty sure it wasn't an 2000+ model, but I don't trust my memory. lol. I don't know what's wrong with me. Too many people posting about too many similar thigns I guess. Or maybe it's all the booze... lolsigpic New 2010 project (click image)

Are you having a machine shop fix the head, or are you doing it yourself?
If this is a DIY job, then at a bare minimum... you need to get some lapping compound and lap that valve seat with the new valve. This isn't so much to make it seal (though it'll help). The point is to look at the wear pattern when you lap it and make sure the valve is gonna seal all the way around (even wear pattern from the lapping compound, no gaps)- so you'll be sure that your seat wasn't damaged, too. Also make sure the seat is good and tight and isn't cracked. Make sure the head isn't cracked and the valve guides ain't loose.
