  • 3100 block w/3.1 heads?

I have a 89 z24 with a thrown rod. I bought a block I was told was a 3.1. It turns out to be a 3100. I allready have new 3.1 heads for it. Will it all bolt up?

Yes the upper end will work on the 3100.

IIRC, The front of block is a little different where the engine mount gets bolted on.

What about pushrods with the roller cam. Oil pan? The 3100 has a windage tray.

If the block's a 3100, find a 3100 top end. Sell the 3.1 heads. Trust me.

So it looks like I can't use the 2.8 oil pan. Will the 3100 oil pan fit ion my 89 z24?

Fit on the engine? No. Fit inside of the engine bay? It should.

fyi you'll need a new front engine bracket to bolt to the front engine mount.
