How tough is it to drop the fuel tank to replace the fuel pump with the car NOT on a hoist? I don't have one in my garage, and lack the ambition to go to work on a Saturday to use one. Time isn't an issue really, so if the car is on jackstands for a few days, I won't lose any sleep over it. Will change the fuel filter again, and obviously, the primary reason is fuel pump replacement. Car needs more fuel. Thanks.

There is? I didn't see one. I know GPs and Regals did...I can only hope that this one does, too.
Went and looked...here's a pic...is it under that rubber mat thingy? It's stuck down pretty good...should be a pain in the ass to remove, but probably still easier than dropping the tank.

I also question it for this car (it IS the 97 Olds CS), because on AllData, they show dropping the tank for this car, but do show the access panel for a 97 GP.\"NASCAR is an integral part of my life. A part of me died when Dale Earnhardt died.\"

Well, remember, the Intrigue was supposed to be around for 1997, but no engine was available for it until 1998. That's the only reason there is a '97 CS, so it's not the next generation W-body that the rest of the cars were.
To save myself time, and frustration has ANYBODY pulled that rubber mat up? And what is that connector for?\"NASCAR is an integral part of my life. A part of me died when Dale Earnhardt died.\"
