  • TBI TPS readings?

anyone know the ohm readings i should get from the throttle position sensor on my TBI 3.1 at closed and WOT? and which terminal on the TPS do i read from? it is the flat 3 pole connector, not the newer style round one.

You need to tap into the connector and read the voltage. Should read from .5 to 5. You read between the black and blue wires. A&B pins

.38 to .7 at 'idle', much much more at wot (at least 3.5) .5 at idle is optimum.

use a DVOM and run the TPS slowly thru its travel to look for glitches (voltage jumps up at certain points)

I dont have a spec for the resistance, just the expected voltages center lug of the connector is TPS output, #1 is +5 ref, #3 is gnd

note: it its bad, its not fixable, just buy a new one
