  • GM IAC motor steps?

I know this is a pretty weird thing to ask, but does any by chance know how many "steps" the IAC motor has? The Haltech has an input for motor steps, and I'm just wonder how many steps it actually has since it is something most people don't mess with. Another question related, any ideas on what the minimum and maximum opening positions for cold and warm settings are?
Oh ya, I did find one site that said it was like 310 steps or something, that just seems way to many steps? I've got it set at 150 right now and the computer controls idle pretty well, falls behind once in a while, but nothing bad. I'm just wondering what stock is?
If anyone has any ideas, I'd wouldn't mind knowing what they are

the actual steps will depend on the engine combination.

it varies between engines, i was going to say the max steps was 100 but if you have the iac set at 150 well that blows that out the door.

mine is usually around a 35-45 iac count at idle.

I may be a max of 100 steps, I just have it set at 150, and it seems to work, I don't have any real way of checking it is the main problem....Maybe 100 is the max, I'll try messing with it some tomorrow see what happens. The Haltech has no way of showing how many steps it is using so that idea is out.

Ive seen 140 as I watched the IAC reset. This means all the way out, then all the way in. Normal is up to your TB and engine combo plus RPM. 30-40 sounds about right for most engines I have played with. Some like more, some like less.
