What does this code mean?

Hi, i normally hang out in the DOHC section but i have a question you pushrod guys. My friend has a 91 Corsica with the 3.1. The check engine light is on. I used this little trick i know to get the computer to tell me what code it was throwing, here is what i got. It is throwing code 12. Not One Adam 12(the TV show,lol). Just wondering if you guys could help me out by telling me what this code means. Thanks

Code 12 means nothing, it's a diagnostic first code that if there are no stored codes it will still show this one. The actual definition for code 12 referes to no ignition pulse, because the car is not running.

The codes will flash three times, then move on to the next code. At the end of all codes it will once again flash code 12 to indicate that all codes have been shown.

Code 12 means that the ECU isnt seeing a signal from the crank, and is now in diagnostic mode.
