  • Air in the cooling system

I have a 91 Z24, every time I have to add coolant, it takes hours to bleed the air out of the system. I developed a hole in my heater core and connected the two hoses together to get home and it took 3 hours to bleed the system, the same thing happened when I replaced the lower radiator hose. I replaced the vent tube that goes from the top of the thermostat to the bottle thinking it was blocked but no luck. Help?

you can bleed it yourself my loosening the nut that is on the coolant pipe that comes off of the water pump that goes to the throttle body. loosen it up and when the water starts to flow it will be eratic if there is air in the system and it will be a more smoother flow coming out when all of the air is gone. should only take a few minutes to do.

    hope that helps you out

Do a compression check. If you have a head gasket leak the engine will pump air into the cooling system.
