  • 1992 buick century tick help, 3300

i was wondering if anybody could help me diagnose a problem I'm having with my '92 3300. I'm getting a ticking noise from two places, the first place is the canister in the front of the passenger side, I'm guessing thats the fuel canister thing. The other place sounds like it's comming from the top part of the engine, almost like it's comming from the intake manifold when you get up close. I was wondering if maybe the canister could have a problem and it would be directly related to the other or vis-versa, and the other noise is some kind of fuel delivery problem? I'm not sure, but any help I would greatly appreciate.

first off, if it is a 3300 its a 90* V6 and not a 60* V6. wrong site. but a tick up top could be a fuel injector (mine do it) or a lifter or something in the upper valvetrain.

well I'm here alot cruising the site because my buick is my winter car and my other car is a 85 fiero gt. I figured someone here could help me out since I'm sure no one is going to care if I ask a question about another engine. I'm trying to get my buick running clean so I can sell it in a couple months.

true. try a can of seafoam or B-12 in the engine first before you go ripping it apart to find a tick. It might be as simple as a sticking valves or lifters
