cavi 2.8 to 3.1

my buddy has a 2.8 and he's sourcing a 3.1 from a junkyard from another cavi.

any issues or is it a direct swap?

should be a direct swap. double check the egr tho you might want to keep the 2.8 plenum if everything matches up better for simplicity sake.

all you will need to do is swap the egr valve over. the 3.1l uses digital egr, the 2.8 uses vacume with feedback. and try and get a motor from a pre 92. ive heard there are a few things (coolant tower, fuel rail) that are a bit different. everything is useable, just takes a bit more work.

thats all providing its an 87+, if its 85-86 2.8, everything needs to be changed.
