It is not a variable fuel engine. It has been permanently converted to run on propane. The attached picture shows a 3.1 similar to ours.
Robby, what is your school? You can spy for us.
The engine mods include 10.3:1 comp, a custom cam for turbo, Garrett T3/T4 Turbo, 10-14 lbs boost, hardened lifters, piston pockets for valve clearance, turbo head gasket, modified oil pump for anti-cavitation, V8 distributor with I6 shaft and modified vacuum retard. This is all I know of since I did not build it.
RR:
A. No gyro. There may be some sort of range finder laser and a solar tracking compass. The vehicle will read the terrain with sweeping lasers and a radar.
B. Everyone will use a GPS system. The route waypoints will not be revealed until two hours before the race to prevent prerunning.
C. No Autopilot. Computers and custom software will control the vehicle and navigation.
D. Some mapping data will be stored in memory, such as possible routes, as a reference.
