  • 3100 problems..HELP!

So, i keep trying things to fix problems and they wont go away. Here's a few:

Really Low Idle: My car Idles at like 450 rpm. The rest of the powerband is fine, and it doesn't ever stall out. It runs pig rich at idle too. The O2 Sensor is brand new. I was thinking it was carbon deposits in the IAC passage. I pulled it out and the IAC was caked with it. I replaced the IAC but I'm sure the passage is still full of crap. I still don't understand why it's running to rich either.

Intermittent "no start": Sometimes I'll turn the key and nothing happens aside from the starter solenoid clicking like crazy. I was thinking the starter was on the way out, but it usually only does it when its cold. Battery voltage is fine at like 12.6 volts last time I checked. Often, I turn they key and nothing will happen. So I'll stop for a sec and try starting again and it fires right up. Every once and a while it wont start up till like 15 tries. I replaced the negative battery cable due to corrosion and it fixed the prob for awhile but it still does it.

The piston slap is driving me insane. I'm running 10w40 with stabilizer and I can still hear it even when the engine's warm. For a while I was thinking spun crank bearing, but it quiets down quite a bit as the engine warms. So I don't think so. Anyone find anything that really helps yet??

If the rear head has a head gasket leak, would I see the milky oil-coolant mix anywhere else? I am seeing white smoke at idle, but that's unburnt gas, and I shoot no smoke even when my foot's to the floor.
