  • grr... cant get preload measurement

i think my lifters are "pumped up" ?

the rocker keeps pushing the valve down instead of the lifter

the have been sitting for like 6 months in the motor.... still pumped up lol

what should i do, remove them, stick sommin in the hole to push the check ball, and de bleed them?

Did you use a pushrod length checker to figure out how long you need the pushrods? Im not quite sure why its opening the valve and not loading the lifter unless the pushrod is too long though. Otherwise, if you are just double checking with the pushrods that are of the right length, I would think installing them how they are working now and cranking the motor over will take care of the problem.

the pushrods are out of the 2.8 gen2 setup
      i now have a 2.8bottom end/gen3 topend
and the gen3 1.6 roller rockers
      they are pretty close
it pushes the valve down and doesnt even move the pushrod

but i guess im going to have to make a pair of adjustable pushrods for the intake and exhaust, then go from there...

allways sommin slowin me down from making progress
there is snow on the ground here allready damnit :P

Did you install new studs for the adjustable rockers or are they still for the fixed rockers?

there are no studs, im using the factory 1.6 roller rockers which have the non adjustable bolts
im going to let them sit under load today, and let them bleed down
          should work

Are you looking at a valve that is on its lift cycle on the cam?

nope they are on the heal of the cam

i made 2 adjustable pushrod checkers and with the pushrods i can get premade(for stock) of simmilar type (5/16 oil feed ball end) i can get as close as .090 preload

              is that too much?
