My temp guage on my trooper has quit reading the temperature. What could be a problem causing that? Wiring? Isn't the temp sensor behind the driver side head? I haven't been able to find it. Anyone?

im not sure were the sender is on your truck. it sounds like the wire is unplugged, or shorted out. check that first, and if its fine, then replace the sensor.
there may be several in your truck. i know my car has 4 of them, one for the gauge (this is a one wire) one for the ecm (2 wire) a fan override temp switch (1 wire) and a cold start injector temp switch (you wont have this)

The temp sensor for the guage is on the driver's side head in the back behind the coil. It's possible the sensor could be bad. Did you check the connector? A loose and or corroded connector could also cause this problem. your going to have to eliminate one cause at a time to track down the problem. Check out s-series.org for more info they are really helpful even if your truck is an Isuzu.
good luck hopefully it's not anything too complicated.1985 GMC S-15 2.8L V6 Auto

Mine has only a plug on the front drivers side. Maybe it differs in model years??????1985 GMC S-15 2.8L V6 Auto
