  • Switched transmission fluid....

I was going to pay 5.00 dollars per bottle of B&M quick shift, but realized that it's Type F fluid. Those guys are making a killing on that stuff. So I put Type F in it. I runs great. Firms the shifts up without being too firm. During normal acceleration I can't even tell it when it shifts. Only half the price. Before it used to take a second to shift. Now about half a second. Put in a gallon of 10W40 with a quart of Marvel oil. That seems to help keep the crankcase clean. Just passing along some tips.

An old street racer's trick was to put type f in a GM tranny. I din't know though, Hot Shift is only for mechanical automatics. I've heard stories of it smoking pretty bad in the newer computer controlled ones.

There\'s a feeling or pride when you step inside, there\'s a special feel in an Oldsmobile.
